Australia Emergency
First off the important stuff - Emergency Contacts…
The emergency contact number in Australia is 000. When you call this number you will speak with an operator who will direct you to either the fire brigade, ambulance or police. Speak as clearly as possible and you will need to answer their questions with as much information as possible in order for them to be able to effectively assist you. In all emergency situations you should remain calm and make sure you do not endanger yourself or others. It is important that you do not call 000 unless it is an emergency, if you want a doctor or locked out of your house, for example, you will need to seek another method of help.
Reporting a crime, for example a theft, can be done at any police station, where they are better able to assist you. Each state has it’s own SES (State emergency Services) who will work alongside the police, ambulance and fire brigade in times of severe circumstances, for example a flood, storm damage and bush fires. If you require the services of the SES you can call 132 500
Now you are ready to begin your journey to Australia, but here are a few tips that you will need to do before you come head down under.
