The Northern Territory is the Federal Territory of Australia located in the centre of the mainland continent bordering Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland with the Arafura Sea, Gulf of Carpentaria and Timor Sea and being an important gateway to countries such as Indonesia and East Timor. Between 1883 and 1889 railway was build between Palmerston and Pine Creek where cattle and mining was established and at one time Victoria River Downs was the largest cattle station in the world and now having economic sectors such as mining and tourism with mineral resources such as gold, zinc and bauxite, significant uranium deposits and energy productions resources mostly being off shore with oil and natural gas in the Timor Sea.
Climate Tropical climate with dry and wet seasons, with heavy rainfall during the wet season.

Tropical region that has divers landscapes with its capital being Darwin and population of 0.22 Million making it least populous division on the mainland with vast tracks of largely unpopulated land and when exploring region permission may be required from the Aboriginal Land Authorities to access with rich Aboriginal culture that is more then 50,000 years old, natural wonders of Kakadu National Park and Uluru with spectacular flora and fauna of the deserts and tropics of Northern Territory. Nature of crocodiles, tropical birds, red deserts and waterfalls with 52 National Parks and nature conservations with varied habits and rare plans and animals such as the famous saltwater crocodile.
Darwin The original inhabitants are Larrakia people where trading routes with Southeast Asia where created. With Darwin being capital of Northern Territory it had a tough history where it was destroyed in World War II by Japanese air raids and devastated by Cyclone Tracy in 1974. The city is multicultural and modern with Kakadu National Park, marina, harbour, and traditional Aboriginal arts. Uluru Kata Tjuta & surrounds ancient weather-worn landscape of Uluru with special rock formations surrounded by desert plains, its 348 meters high and dates back 500 million years with Aboriginal culture and traditions.

Alice springs Discovered by the early explores around 1900s and it began as a repeater station along the Overland Telegraph Line surrounded by historic sites and the MacDonnell Ranges with Finke Gorge national park & Hermannsburg district and the Simpson Desert that stretches south from Alice Springs down towards South Australia.
